When we meet, there are lots of benefits for you with in home lactation! You get to enjoy the comforts of your own home, using couches, pillows, or whatever else has made you comfortable. My goal is to eliminate the discomfort of being in an office, and really get to the issue at hand which is ensuring you and your new baby are thriving in this journey.
What to expect from a visit with me:
I will wash my hands before anything else occurs.
I will weigh your baby unless your baby is older and/or weight isn’t a concern.
I will assess your breasts as well as your baby’s oral anatomy.
I will always ask before I assess or touch your breasts.
I will do a lot of observing and hands-on assisting only as necessary.
I will help you correct latch as needed and we can even work on new positions if you’d like.
We will assess your pump if you have it available and even try it out if you’d like to make sure you have a good setting.
Things that I ask of you:
Put your pups away. Even the best of dogs can be a little protective of the newest family members.
Do not clean your home or even worry about the state of your house. I am here for you and I do not need you to be stressing out about my visit.
Kids are always welcome to be around and of course partners, support people or spouses are welcome.
I will ask you to fill out a consent form as well as a health history form once you’ve booked your consultation.
Please make a list of any questions you have in advance and you can include them on the forms; if you think of more, that’s great!
